New: an assistant that configures your site from a sentence

Your site in 247+ languages.
Configured by conversation.

AutoTranslator translates your entire WordPress site — content, theme, menus, cart, and whatever loads through AJAX — using the provider you choose. It ships with an AI assistant that understands requests like "translate only into Western European languages using Gemini" and simply does it.

Done. I selected Spanish, French, German, Italian, Dutch, and Portuguese; the provider is now Gemini 2.5 Flash and the tone is formal. Gemini has a free tier, so nothing changes on your bill. Want me to run a connection test?

AI Assistant

AI is here to make translators' lives easier.

No more hunting through settings screens. Say what you want in plain English — the assistant changes the settings, saves them instantly, shows you before and after, and explains the impact on cost, SEO, and quality.

Configure with a sentence.

"Add Japanese, Korean, and Chinese." "Switch to Microsoft and test it." "Make the language switcher float." Every request becomes a real change, applied through the same validation as the settings form — and mirrored live in the fields, as if you had clicked them yourself.

  • Picks languages by group: European, Asian, most spoken, or the ones a given provider handles well
  • Suggests the next step with ready-made buttons after every reply
  • Explains cost, coverage, and SEO impact before you decide
  • Runs connection tests and diagnostics, and clears the cache with your confirmation

Two providers are now set up: Gemini stays primary, and Google Translate now handles Swahili, Amharic, Hausa, Yoruba, and Zulu — languages where AI models tend to underperform. I added those five to your targets since they weren't there yet.

Assistant

Self-support: it investigates and pinpoints the problem.

"The site isn't translating." The assistant doesn't guess. It checks the environment, logs, and cache, runs a test translation, fetches your page the way a visitor would, and reads the plugin's own source code. Then it tells you whether it's a setting, your hosting, a theme conflict — or a bug, with file and line number.

  • Proposes code fixes as a diff; you decide whether to apply
  • Automatic backup and syntax check — if anything fails, it reverts on its own
  • Detects page caches and CDNs serving the original-language version

The site isn't translating. Find out why.
Assistant
Found it: the provider responds fine, but the homepage comes back identical for a Spanish visitor, and the response carries cf-cache-status: HIT. Cloudflare is serving the English version to everyone. Two ways out: vary the cache on the aat_lang cookie, or switch to directory URLs (/es/), which the cache treats as separate pages. The second also improves SEO — want me to enable it?

Translation style

Only AI models accept instructions — and this is where translations pick up your site's voice. Describe your audience, choose a tone, lock down terms, and add guidance.

  • Tone: formal, neutral, friendly, technical, persuasive
  • Glossary: "Pro Plan" is never translated; "cart = carrito" always is
  • Free-form instructions: language variant, units, what to preserve

Under the hood

Fast for your visitors. Cheap for you.

Database cache

Every string is translated once. The next visit is served entirely from cache, with no provider calls — and you can track usage day by day.

Block-by-block translation

The server translates for a few seconds, ships the page, and the remaining blocks fill in as the visitor reads. No blank pages, no timeouts.

Dynamic content

"Load more", shop filters, live search, cart, and comments: AJAX and REST API responses arrive already translated, in a single batch.

Real SEO

Directory or subdomain URLs, canonical tags, hreflang, and a per-language lang attribute. Translated titles and descriptions, with Yoast, Rank Math, AIOSEO, and SEOPress support.

Cost control

A daily character cap, a policy for search-engine bots (translate, cache only, or original), and providers with permanent free tiers.

Fixes with a safety net

The assistant proposes patches as diffs; applying one makes a backup and checks syntax. If anything fails, the file is restored automatically. Everything is reversible.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask before buying

Do I need an API key?

It depends on the provider. LibreTranslate works without one. Gemini, Google Translate, and Microsoft offer generous free tiers; OpenAI, Grok, DeepInfra, and OpenRouter are pay-as-you-go on your own account. The assistant will tell you what each one costs for your volume.

Does the AI assistant cost anything?

It runs on a Claude model from Anthropic using your own key — independent of your translation provider. A typical conversation costs cents. The key never leaves your server.

Does it work with page caches and CDNs?

Yes. With directory or subdomain URLs, every language is a distinct page for the cache. In cookie mode, Diagnostics warns you if the cache is serving the original and explains how to vary it on the cookie.

What about content that loads later, via AJAX?

It's translated on the server before it reaches the browser — "load more", filters, live search, cart — in a single batch per response. Anything built purely on the client is covered by a lightweight script that watches the page.

Can I exclude parts of the page?

Yes: add the notranslate class or the translate="no" attribute to any element. Brand and product names can also go in the glossary.

What happens if I uninstall?

Your site returns to its original language immediately. Translations stay in the plugin's table until you choose to remove them.

Your site speaks to the world, starting today.

Install it, tell the assistant which languages you want, and see the result in minutes. No code, no string spreadsheets, no waiting on a translator.
